The OneLessStraw pledge campaign is a campaign created by One More Generation (OMG) and its partners. OMG is a nonprofit organization founded by Carter and Olivia Ries back in 2009 when they were 8.5 and 7 years old. Carter and Olivia have become world renowned for their work on plastic pollution education and animal conservation.
Plastic straws, (like single use plastic bags) are one of those items that most of us could live without. We can all be the solution to the problem by simply 'saying no' to plastic straws and either going without or getting yourself a reusable drinking straw.
We created the "OneLessStraw Pledge Campaign" as a way for each of us to get involved. Affecting change is as easy as saying 'No'. You don't have to buy anything. You don't have to convince others to do what you are doing. You merely have to say 'No' to all plastic straws.

Below you will find links which contain lots of additional resources and tools to help you find ways so you too can reduce your dependency on plastic straws. Please share these with others and be sure to let us know if there is anything else we can do to help you or your community.
Why This Is Important
Each year 100,000 marine animals and over 1 million sea birds die from ingesting plastic.
Every day we use 500,000,000 plastic straws. That’s enough straws to fill 46,400 large school buses PER YEAR!
U.S. Consumption is equal to enough plastic straws to wrap around the earth’s circumference 2.5 times a day!
