Thank you for supporting our efforts to cut plastic straw usage worldwide. Plastic straws have become one of those mindless conveniences that we don't even notice any more. Their impact on our environment and on the animals that encounter them is no longer sustainable or acceptable.

By signing this pledge and inviting your friends and family members to do the same, you are truly making a difference. Plastic straws are made of petroleum which means once discarded, they will sit in our environment for hundreds of years, or even worse, end up being ingested by animals who will ultimately die.

In the face of the most recent findings on plastics in the oceans (estimated minimum of 5.25 trillion floating particles weighing 268,940 tons), and evidence of the ingestion of those microplastics by all manner of marine life, from zooplankton to whales, we can no longer continue to justify something as frivolous as the disposable plastic straw. As a thank you for taking the #1LessStraw pledge, One More Generation and Simply Straws would like to present to you a reusable glass straw for a lifetime of use. You will be sent a link via email giving you instructions on how to redeem your coupon for your Simply Straws reusable glass straw. Offer excludes shipping.

Why This Is Important

Each year 100,000 marine animals and over 1 million sea birds die from ingesting plastic.

Every day we use 500,000,000 plastic straws. That’s enough straws to fill 46,400 large school buses PER YEAR!

U.S. Consumption is equal to enough plastic straws to wrap around the earth’s circumference 2.5 times a day!
